ERIC HANNON

Technician in Auburn, MA

Eric Hannon was born in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1991 and lived in Oxford, Massachusetts before his family moved to Auburn, Massachusetts in 1994. He attended Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School where he learned how to use small engines and power equipment technology. As a freshman, he competed in the shop driven tech competition which was reserved mostly for Juniors and Seniors. He also excelled in athletics and received many awards including Freshman rookie of the year in Baseball. During this time he was scouted to play in the MLB in his Freshman and Sophomore years before tearing his rotator cuff. He then moved to Auburn High School where he competed on their track and field team that went on to compete in the State Championship in 2009-2010.

In 2009, after graduating from High School, Hannon enlisted in the United States Coast Guard as a Reserve Machinery Technician First Class from 2010-2018. Eric Hannon enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and in 2010 attended Basic Training in Cape May NJ. After completing his training Hannon was asked to Join the Deployable Operations Group (D.O.G) where he served several tours overseas including Kuwait, Bahrain, Africa and Cuba. Hannon achieved the rank of Machinery Technician First Class during his time where he focused mostly on diesel Engineering. From 2016-2018 Hannon was a Lead Electro-Mechanical Technician for Vaia Technologies before moving on to be a Technician for Matec Instruments Logistical and then a Class 4 Technician for Leonardo DRS. After six years Eric switched to the reserves to decide if he wished to continue. After being struck in the face with a hydraulic arm and breaking a large portion of his skull and the following year as a passenger of a vehicle being driven off the road by an erratic driver during a snow storm causing the truck to strike a tree and roll over Hannon decided to end his career in the Coast Guard after eight successful years. Eric also received two bachelors of engineering with minors in English literature and philosophy utilizing his GI Bill. After leaving the military Eric had several jobs in the engineering field From 2016-2018 Hannon was a Lead Electro-Mechanical Technician for Vaia Technologies before moving on to be a Technician for Matec Instruments Logistical and then a Class 4 Technician for Leonardo DRS. Now Hannon works in the private sector. In his downtime Hannon remains an avid baseball fan and participates in baseball, disc golf, dungeons and dragons and enjoys hiking.
